Guten Abend and good evening! I am now just about half way into Week 7 of my Frankfurt life, and I am still loving every single minute of it – even the working bit, believe it or not! And already two weeks have gone by since my last post, which I myself can’t quite believe. Work is going swimmingly and I’m really starting to make friends with my colleagues, particularly Amy who even made me coffee this morning for my arrival (and I thought I was the intern!). I’m doing a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis and am learning lots of new skills along the way (not just how to photocopy and make coffee). In the meantime, I have finally found myself somewhere to live permanently. When I say permanently, I mean between October and July, with my intern finishing end of August. But hopefully by the end of July I’ll know whether I’ll be staying around or not (at the moment I’m kind of hoping I will be staying), so I can then start looking for something more permanent if need be. I’m moving pretty much round the corner from where I live now, approximately 90 seconds walking (I timed it… Yes, I’m sad). I’ll be living with a guy called Joshua, who lives there with his girlfriend, Nina. Nina is moving away to do her masters so I’m going to be living in the guest room. And then let’s move on to the more exciting things (although finding a flat is pretty damn exciting itself) – Nintendo. Let’s just say on Sunday evening my ultimate dreams and wishes came true as I was invited to a Mario Kart evening with people who work at Nintendo. Actual Nintendo employees. And I won every Grand Prix we played… whoops! And to top it off even more, we had Hugo and takeaway pizza. You can imagine how happy I was that evening! So this has been a pretty short blog post. As I mentioned before, when I’m working all the time, there’s nothing much to report. Apart from maybe the fact that my new nickname at work may possibly become Jan or JanDan after I went to bar with Amy and others and the lady at the bar asked us if we were all paying separately at the end, and then looked at me after we already said “Ja” and, apparently I completely missed her asking what our names are, so I repeated my “Ja”, thus becoming Jan. I guess there are worse nicknames out there… Here are some more schöne Fotos I’ve been taking over the past two weeks.
